WWE Superstars (July 22) Results and Review

Perhaps anticlimactic in the wake of the Draft and restructuring of the WWE roster, this week’s episode of Superstars might leave some unconvinced of this show’s relevance. Sucks for them, I guess. A new match is a new match. Let’s get in the ring!

Filmed July 18 at Dunkin Donuts Center Providence, RI.

Summer Rae vs. Alicia Fox

Former Divas Champion Alicia Fox gets some ring rust removed thanks to the underrated and exceptional Summer Rae. Both find themselves on RAW following Monday’s transmogrification. Hopefully one or both of these ladies will wind up across the ring from Charlotte or the recent call-up, Nia Jax. The Women’s Division might be the most exciting part of the recent shake-up.

Winner: Summer Rae (via pinfall following a rope-assisted roll up)

The Usos vs. The Dudley Boyz

In what may be their final confrontation (for a while?), the Dudleys and the Usos have a solid outing here. Not to say this match was bad by any stretch, it seems as though this lame-duck period before the ball truly gets rolling on the New “New Era” will be lost in the shuffle. Both teams have far more to offer than they are allowed to. Bubba Ray in particular has the potential to be a major player in a singles title scenario and the Dudley Boyz are always a threat to whoever has the tag titles.

Winner: The Usos (via pinfall following a Samoan Splash)
