KICKOFF MATCH: Alberto Del Rio vs Kalisto 2 out of 3 falls United States Championship Match

Mauro Ranallo is out to call the pre-show match giving it a bigger feel than it might have otherwise. Del Rio took the early advantage moving the action to the outside of the ring in hopes of dominating his smaller opponent. That was not the case for very long, however, as Kalisto turned the tide with a hurancanrana to the barricade. Exasperated Alberto decided to blast Kalisto with a steel chair causing the disqualification for the first fall.

Kalisto, still weakened from the chair shot, fell victim to ADR’s double stomp in the ropes and a quick second fall of the contest.

With the score one to one, whoever gets the next fall walks out with the US Title. Kalisto got his second wind hitting a pair of ranas followed by a spike DDT for the near fall. Alberto gains the upper hand and catches the luchador with another double stomp, this time off the side of the time keeper’s area. Kalisto narrowly beat the ten count, but ran right into ADR’s clutches. Kalisto attempted to reverse into to Saldia del Sol, but Del Rio resisted. He is instead flung into the top turnbuckle then rolled up for the 1-2-3.

Winner: Kalisto

Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch vs Tamina and Naomi (Team B.A.D.)

B.A.D. began the match isolating Becky turning the match onto a virtual 2-on-1. Lynch just avoided being counted out after taking a stunner over the ropes. Becky was finally able to put away Naomi and Tamina long enough to tag in Sasha and they began taking over. Banks avoided a double suplex from B.A.D. followed by a double missile dropkick from Becky. Sasha Banks locks Tamina into the Banks Statement for the submission victory.

Winners: Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch

Intercontinental Championship

Dolph Ziggler vs Kevin Owens(c)

Owens came into the match the early agressor mainly keeping Ziggler grounded. Dolph took a vicious shot to the top turnbuckle after an Irish whip and this allowed Kevin to grind him into the ground further.  Dolph got fired up slipped out of the way of an Owens corner strike. He hit the jumping elbows and nearly got the pinfall. The advantage didn’t last long as Owens was able to hit the fisherman’s suplex from the top rope. He then took to the outside setting up for the apron powerbomb. Dolph reversed into a head scissor into the steel steps. Ziggler hit the ZigZag back the ring for another near fall. KO used the referee as a shield and Dolph ran into a Pop-up Powerbomb.

Winner: Kevin Owens

The Wyatt Family vs The Big Show, Ryback and Kane

This match was sort of put together at the last minute and the crowd was not to hot for it. Early in it was Ryback battling all the Wyatt family. Kane got the tag and kept up for a while until the Wyatts’ teamwork got the best of him. Big Show finally came in and started cleaning house. He downed Strowman it with a spear on the outside. Back in the ringRyback performed the Shell Shocked on Harper for the win.

Divas Championship match

Brie Bella vs Charlotte(c)

With the story being told for this match, the recently retired Daniel Bryan seemed like the third participant. Brie has already announced her retirement and she came in putting on one of the best matches she’s ever wrestled. Charlotte is the better wrestler though, and she for the most part had the upper hand. The champ stayed on the offensive locking Brie in with several neck scissor holds. Brie again fought back hitting a dropkick through the ropes. Charlotte took a facebuster back in the ring and Brie locked her in the Yes lock. Ric Flair tried to interfere but Bella switched to the one legged crab. She held the hold for a long while until her leg gave out. Charlotte thrush her into the ropes then put on the Figure 8. Brie tapped out and Charlotte retained.

Winner: Charlotte

AJ Styles vs Chris Jericho

This match was a solid back and forth, the best of their three encounters. Styles attempted a splash over the top and Jericho caught him with a dropkick. AJ catches Y2J with a pancake slam for the near fall. The match nearly ended when Jericho hooked Styles jn the Walls of Jericho. AJ was able to reach the ropes and escape to the outside. There, Jericho caught the Phenomenal One with the old school Lion Tamer. Back in the ring AJ hit the Styles Clash and Jericho was able to kick out. He then immediately put on the Calf Crusher for the win.

Winner: AJ Styles

Edge and Christian’s Cutting Edge Peep Show

Edge and Christian start out promoting their new show on the WWE network. The New Day interrupted and came to the ring. Edge calls them ripoffs. He says they are basically doing what he and Christian did in the late 90s/early 00s. The New Day trashed them along with all the current tag teams including the League of Nations bringing out the League. New Day decided not to engage and left the ring. The League then turned their attention on Edge and Christian threatening the retired superstars. They joined the New Day in the entry way and got a few more jabs in at the League. This segment did not live up to its potential.

R-Truth vs Curtis Axel

The #socialoutcasts are all out in support of Axel and Truth makes mention of the disadvantage. They wrestled for about a minute until Goldust made he way to the ring. He threw Adam Rose into the ring distracting Truth allowing Axel to make the roll up for the win.

Winner: Curtis Axel

#1 contendership for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

Dean Ambrose was taken out if the equation quickly freeing up Lesnar to launch Reigns with multiple German suplexes. Ambrose returned with a dropkick to Brock’s back only to anger the Beast more. He then suplexed Ambrose in the ring and outside of it. Only about 3 minutes into the match Brock hit the F5 on Roman before Ambrose broke up the pin. Dean began receiving all of Lesnar punishment and nearly took an F5 when Roman came in for the spear. On the outside Dean hit Brock with a low blow. Reigns powerbombed the Beast through the a French announce table and he and Ambrose started working on each other. They brawled until Brock started to stir. He was then put through the English announce table. Reigns and Ambrose again fought it out before Lesnar entered again to tackle Roman. Brock got Reigns in the Kimura lock. Dean resurfaced with a steel chair. He smashed Lesnar several times and caught Roman with a few. As the Lunatic was getting rid of Brock, Reigns popped back up for one last spear to Ambrose for the pin. Roman Reigns is going on to face Triple H in the main event of WrestleMania.
